Born in Nara Japan. Lived and worked in London for 8 years and returned to Japan in 2013.

Light and shadow, life and death, existence. The fundamental questions that lie at the bottom of all of us are the starting point of her work. Taking a macroscopic view of everyday objects, she moves between the micro and the macro, exploring answers that cannot be expressed in words through her experiences and senses. The photographs, like pieces of a poetic and symbolic puzzle, invite the viewers to expand their own stories and interpretations. Not only the photographs, but also the prose, the installation, and the sound make the whole space in her exhibition and act like a memory device.

“Photography, for me, is a tool to recall the memories that we’ve forgotten, and to draw the sceneries that have yet to be born, which I believe we all share deep inside us.”

奈良生まれ。ロンドンでの8年間の活動を経て、2013年に日本に帰国。

光と闇、生と死、存在。私たちの根底にある普遍的な問いが、彼女の制作の起点となる。日常的な物事を対象としながらも、ミクロとマクロを行き来し、言葉で表現できない答えを、感覚と体験から探っていく。詩的でシンボリックなパズルのピースの様な写真は、見る者にそれぞれの物語や解釈の拡がりを投げかける。また写真のみならず、散文、インスタレーション、音響と共に、空間全体が記憶装置のような展示を試みる。
