去年（2020）に発表した「もの その二」は「もの その一」からの続きで「意味のないものの意味を探す」という事から始まりました。いくつかの信仰などで空、風、火、水、土の五大要素があらゆる世界を構成していると言われ、その考えを使い写真で塔婆を作れないかと考えました。
撮影した写真を分類し、パズルのように組み合わせていきます。無限にある組み合わせの中、説明はできないのですが不思議としっくりとくる時があるのです。また、興味深い事に空から地上に降りてくるように、「空」から「土」へと順番に出来上がっていきました。ただ、最後の「土」の組み合わせはある種迷いながら終えることになり、作品をそうでしか完成させられなかった理由もありました。
写真のスタイルは私の状態（もの事をどう感じているか）によって、常に変化していきます。最後の「土」の組み合わせがなかなか完成しなかった時、足りていない要素を意図的に撮ろうとするのですが、余計な意図が入った写真はどれもしっくりとこないのです。
そんな中、ヨーロッパへ旅行をすることになりました。もちろんカメラを持っては行きますが、旅行中も今までに無くとても不思議な感覚で、ほとんど写真を取りませんでした。帰国後、唯一撮った１本のフィルムが現像から返って来た時、その中の１枚がもうすでに次の作品のものだったのです。（https://www.instagram.com/p/B2vsRBPFXV9/）
もう私は「もの その二」のための写真は撮れなくなった、今手元にある写真で完成させるしかない、と気付かされたのです。「これがこの作品の形なんだ」ということを理解し、またそれが作品の結論とも繋がっていきました。

Last year (2020) I showed ‘A Thing Part 2’ which was a continuation of ‘A Thing Part 1’. It started with the idea of “searching for the meaning of a thing that doesn’t have a meaning”. In some beliefs, it is said that the five elements of Aether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth make up the whole world. And I thought I could use this idea and make a stupa out of photographs.
The photographs are sorted and put together like a puzzle. There are an infinite number of combinations, but certain combinations fit tother convincingly, which I can’t explain why. It was also interesting to see how I finished the combination, from “Aether” to “Earth”, as if coming down from the sky onto the earth. However, the last one, “Earth”, was a kind of lost end, and there was a reason why I could only complete the work in that way.
My style of photography is always changing, depending on my state of mind (how I feel about things). When I couldn’t quite complete the last combination, I deliberately tried to capture the missing pieces, but none of the photos with conscious intention felt right.
Meanwhile, I decided to travel to Europe. I took my camera with me, of course, but during the trip I had a very strange feeling and hardly took any pictures. I realised that I could no longer take photographs for ‘A Thing Part 2’, and that I had to complete it with the photographs I had at hand. I understood “This is the shape of it”, and it also led to the conclusion of the project.
